Chair Yoga for Adults with Chronic Health Conditions

Designed for adults with chronic conditions and pain including Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, Post Stroke, Arthritis or conditions with similar symptoms

  • Incorporating a gentle dance fitness warm-up followed by a series of chair yoga poses and seated deep relaxation
  • Created to help participants:
    • Remain active
    • Build social relationships
    • Improve gross and fine motor skills
    • Lengthen and relax muscles
    • Increase breath capacity
    • Calm and connect body and mind to improve mental wellness
    • Increase awareness and control of body

Gentle Yoga for Parkinson’s Disease

  • Designed for people living with Parkinson’s Disease, who can stand up and sit down on a chair with independence and go down and up off the floor with minimal assistance (for those who can not get down to the floor variations in the chair are offered)
  • Incorporates a sequence of movements moving around a chair, and while using other props to help support the body and find stillness, while learning breathing techniques, based on traditional yoga theory
  • Created to help participants:
    • Remain active
    • Build social relationships
    • Improve gross and fine motor skills
    • Lengthen and relax muscles
    • Increase breath capacity and facial movements
    • Calm and connect body and mind to improve mental wellness
    • Increase awareness and body control, including initiation of movement

Restorative Yoga & Tea for Parents, Caregivers & Care Partners

  • Designed for parents and caregivers of children, teens or adults with special needs as well as care partners of those with chronic health conditions to connect and breathe together through yoga then continue building the connection over tea
  • The Restorative Yoga class incorporates breath awareness meditation, restorative gentle yoga postures and stretching and deep relaxation
  • Created to help participants:
    • Restore body and mind
    • Release stress and tension
    • Embrace time for self in a safe and welcoming environment
    • Share and receive empathy and compassion
    • Connect and build relationships with people experiencing similar life situations
