  • Combining the benefits and enjoyment of our Karate and Music Programs plus an additional “Variety Hour” which includes art, baking, construction projects and so much more!
  • The Day Program also includes a lunch break in which participants and support workers may engage in social interactions and activities.
  • All classes are adapted to the abilities of participants ensuring that everyone is able to partake and engage in all the activities. Activities will be modified to suit each individual’s needs.

  • Designed for participants of all abilities and diagnoses
  • Traditional style Karate modified to meet the unique, individual needs incorporating a traditional opening of class, warm-up, karate basics (punches, blocks, kicks), kiai (sound of empowerment), self defense basics (time permitting), potential for partner work and karate drills, ending with a cool down and a traditional closing to the class.
  • Created to help participants:
    • Learn simple, fundamental, karate basics
    • Develop confidence and be empowered
    • Develop and improve gross motor skills and physical coordination
    • Promote balance awareness and a mind body connection
    • Engage in an individual activity in a group environment
    • Offered in a safe and welcoming setting
    • Interact co-operatively, positively and appropriately with peers

Thursdays – 10:45 – 11:45 am 

  • Designed for participants 18+ of all abilities and diagnoses (accompanied by a support worker)
  • Classes designed and led by a trained music therapist
  • Incorporating a wide range of creative and interactive music making activities that are an engaging, achievable and fun way to self express and build confidence in an inclusive environment
  • Created to help participants:
    • Develop tools for creative self expression, in turn building self-worth and confidence
    • Improve verbal and non-verbal expression
    • Build social skills and use them appropriately with their peers in a safe space
    • Improve fine and gross motor skills as well as all aspects of coordination
    • Relax and allow time to connect with their body and mind
    • Develop ability to sequence and improve memory through music based activity
    • Offer a sensory experience that is exciting and fun
    • Explore thought processes, and emotions in a creative and therapeutic manner

Thursdays – 12:45 – 1:45 pm 

  • Each week, participants are guided through a wide array of engaging and motivating activities ranging from arts, crafts and social games to life-skill and sport based team games.
  • Created to help participants:
    • Build friendships in an inclusive environment
    • Improve dexterity, fine and gross motor skills
    • Interact co-operatively, positively and appropriately with peers
    • Develop creativity and independent thinking
    • Develop important life skills
    • Have the opportunity to explore activities that may be inaccessible otherwise
